My Mind And Me - Three Sides To Me

Three Sides To Me

It was the little things that made all the difference. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a bad way. It didn't take much to make me happy but then it didn't take much to make me pissed off either. I supposed pissed off was a light way to describe it. More like severe dramatic over reacting fucked off. Then you had the middle of the spectrum which peered its head up every now and then but not that much. Sadness. Pure sadness. I don't mean sad in general I mean I would get sad about things, simple things, like Tommy going to work.

You know what I don't even  know if it was sadness, more like pure desperation. I remember some mornings I would lay there hoping his alarm wouldn't go off so he would miss work, heck it did cross my mind to turn his alarm off. But I never did. We lived with my mum in Essex and he had to travel to Berkshire to work everyday, leaving at 5am and sometimes not returning till 7pm maybe later. So you could understand why I was so desperate to keep him at home with me, it felt like I hardly saw him during the week. I started to resent his work, and him I guess. I felt like he didn't want to be home. He did and he did want to be around me he was just doing what he could to support us. I can see that now. But at the time I was blinded by what my mind was telling me, because that's what it was something in my mind twisting the truth. Having the girls to look after everyday kept me afloat if not I think I could have been your classic lay in a dark room all day depressive. But of course I wasn't depressed. I didn't think so.

Like I said there were different sides of this and unfortunately I have to express them to you. Only that way you can get an understanding of what my head must have been like, only I now can understand myself after I've read what I've wrote and I lived it. Anyway back to topic. So I had done the whole waking up, sad desperation wishing I had Tom staying home. And yes I have had the paranoia where I was scared he was going to leave me, the hundreds of texts I sent just to check if we were okay. Yes I was a  nightmare I know but don't tell me you ladies haven't done something similar depression, anxiety  ect or not. But anyway the paranoia speaks for itself not much to say on  that. Evening would come around I would feed the girls and bath them  by myself, when I was lucky Tom would be home to just make bath time but that weren't often, of course that weren't his fault it was depending on what time work finished and the bloody traffic on the m25 (shitty road). Now incase you haven't gathered by now, my third post, my mind wasn't of normal thinking. Yes that's right you guessed it. He was in the wrong. My blood boiling, thoughts of cheating, thoughts of escaping me (wouldn't have blamed him) must have been running through his head. I am clever I noticed it. By now I had rehearsed my argument 5 times in my head already. By the time that car pulled up I was all fired up and ready to go! Of course silent treatment HAD to occur first (I'm still a woman), he needed to know something was wrong though by now he was probably expecting it. You know weirdly when my well rehearsed argument actually left my lips it made no bloody sense. What the fuck? It was perfect I had a point, he should be on his knees saying sorry (for what? who the hell knows) but he wasn't he was laughing at me  and calling out my shit points. Of course that would end up with me going well into one storming about and locking myself in bathroom after slamming the door pretending to go for the longest wee in history. These matters would resolve themselves but they would soon reoccur.

Of course there was a happier side to my mind! Like I said I was very easy to make happy too. I lived for children and something else, the weekends! We were all together, as a family. The man I had missed so terribly all week was home I was going to make the most of them days. We would just make little trips to Asda to get Bellas jars, or just to browse round but to me it would be the most special time. It would make me smile so much. And I would be so content. I loved it when  we were all together. On a really good weekend when we had the money, Id get my eyebrows done, I would get replacement leggings, you girls will know the hassle with the holes that primark leggings ALWAYS produce. Now these days I would be ecstatic. No I weren't going anywhere fancy, no I weren't buying the next designer thing, but I was with the people I cared about the most  and I was treating myself to a little something. Could you imagine what I was like if we went out for a meal I was like a child hyped up of thousands of sweets. Like I said it didn't take a lot to set of that smile, just like it didn't take a lot to set off them tears  and the rage.

There were so many days I thought Tommy was going to throw in the towel, and he probably did think about it once or twice or even more. But he never did. He is still by my side, I think I still take him a bit for granted but writing it out like this really opens my eyes. I don't think I could have stuck it out with me like that so I really see clearly how lucky I am, Tommy is my rock I love him dearly and he is always there for me. Thank you Tom. Thank you so much.

This like my other two posts is only a part of my story, I hope you stick with me so I can take you through my journey, maybe even for some of you to relate too. My inbox (twitter) is always there.

Look out for my mind and me part 4 next week.

Thanks for reading

My Little Ballerina

Our Lovely Readers,

As you all know we have recently moved from Essex to Berkshire, so enough of a distance. I have recently posted the effects the move has had on me and I how I have dealt with it, But I haven't gone into  detail on the effects it had on my girls. Bella being so young she hasn't noticed at all. She wouldn't have noticed if we were living on earth or outta space as long as she was fed washed and loved. That we have always done, so explains how the move went over her head. Ava though was that much older and knowing so she noticed.

Ava was very happy about the move in general and on the out side. She would constantly tell us how she loved her new home and run around like a nutter. Prior to the move Ava had been settled in a nursery and loving it, she had friends and her 'work' was coming along great, she became a right little social butterfly. It practically ripped my heart out having to pull her out of that nursery. I thought she was going to take it worse than she did, but actually she was alright. It was a shock how she took It but made me so proud. Since she has always commented about her friends and it tugs at my heart strings whenever she does, making the decision to not put her into a nursery here prob made it more. You see there is not long till she goes to school  and being in some sort of child care since the age of 9 months I wanted some time with her before she grew up even more and went to school. Selfish? Probably but I had her interests at heart too, I didn't want to get her settled all over again just so she  could leave and start school, it was too a much all at once, I felt. I had my health visitor practically pressuring me to get her into nursery which made me question my decision, it took courage I believe to follow my instincts and say no its my decision. However Ava kept saying about her friends and I couldn't  stop the guilt eat away at me and I did question my choices, but as she never said anything in a sad way it made it easier. At the same time Ava's behaviour became worse it led me to wonder why, was it the move? the lack of socialising with other children? I don't know. I was still adamant of my decision and that was not going to change, once my mind is made up its  made up. Its a pain in the bum sometimes haha. Ava has inherited that off of me too. So any way I started to look at other ways I could get her into socialising with other children.

Of course there were a lot of groups ran round here, but that's not what I was looking for. I wanted some form of consistency. Its what Ava needed. I wanted her to see the same groups of people every week, make friends and rebuild her confidence in them social situations (she had started going shy again). This is when I felt like I had been given a gift from god. A new dance studio had opened literally next to me. I thought I would look into the prices ect. To my delight the prices were so good I couldn't believe it, and they did dancing for Avas age! she chose ballet which I knew she would. Seeing the delight on her face when I told her she could go was priceless, I will never forget it. She was so excited when  she first went as she is every week. A whole burst of energy comes out of her on ballet days. She's improving every week too! Not just on the dancing but on the socialising half too. She is making friends. The first lesson she wouldn't talk to anyone, it did make me worry, but now she will involve her self. I am so proud of her. Ballet was a saviour. Its helped maintain the progress we made with nursery. More surprisingly its turned out the ballet is something she really wants to do, she is always practicing her feet ect. Right now I am happy with the decision I have made. I get to spend time with her before school and she still has interaction with other children. I am one extremely happy and proud mummy right now.

The dance studio Ava goes to is Vibez in Woodley Reading their prices are cheap but lessons are good and lovely people, I any of you live near I recommend if interested.

Thanks for reading :)

Happy Hair

Happy Hair

I have a bad habit of getting bored of my hair. I used to change the colour like there was no tomorrow since the age of 16, it weren't till I trained as a hairdresser and could tell the damage it was doing that I stopped. However, I still got bored so my only option to change is the length. I have extensions pixie cuts ect.

For the past year and a half I have got used to having a short graduation, I have fell into the habit of letting it grown out then having it cut back in. Its a change and keeps me satisfied without feeling like I need to drastically change the colour.

The last time I had my hair cut was February this year when Bella was just under 2 months old. So it had been 7 months since I last had a hair cut which honestly is not good I had a lot of dead ends and it was really thick. I am doing everyone else's hair and running around after my babies all day I just forget about my hair forget I need it cut or to be honest I would just rather give my children the money. But my hair had got really bad and I decided it needed  to be done, today.

I started looking at local salons last and messaged one through social media, they told me I had to ring the salon to book which is confusing as I thought why cant she just book me in via message. So I got in touch with another local salon via another social media site and they got back to me really quickly and booked me in via inbox message which I found really good, efficient, helpful convenient and modern. This salon is called Hair by Sassy.

I went into the salon today, I was greeted by a stylist (I hadn't got her name) who was friendly as soon as I entered and made me feel comfortable. There was no waiting around and she cracked on. She was quick working and had had the right amount of chat about her and was very polite and friendly when chatting to me. She even dealt with a touchy Ava running around the place in the right manor she didn't let her distract her. I was impressed with the keenness to help and ensure that I walked out of the salon happy.

I hate walking into salons and feeling uncomfortable and getting that really bitchy feeling. I am impressed with this salon as I didn't get this feeling at this salon, the reason why I think and is something I quite like is because there are only two stylists working there. Unlike most salons I actually got a really relaxed feeling when having my hair done. I can't believe how long this salon has been round the corner and  how long I have just passed it. Safe to say I will not be just passing it any more.

Nudging Out Negativity

As I'm approaching 23 on 30th April, it has made me realize how much I have grown up. I may not of done the things I planned years ago or got the dream job or have my own family but looking back myself as a person has changed.

I used to always just be the follower and do what people told me to, I suppose to feel like I fitted in. I always hung around with people older than me as I was close to my Cousin who was a year older and used to be friends with her friends. I never was the popular kid but my cousins friends was so hanging around with them made me feel wanted I guess. Looking back that is stupid and I would never do that now. In the past two years I have made big changes to my life as I have stopped speaking to the people who wasn't good for me and I tell you what I feel so much better for it. I may have lost a lot of people because of it but I've never been happier with just the small amount of people I have around me now. Now I have people around me who generally care and love me where as before the people I was friends with didn't give a shit about me and just hang around with me for company.

I wished I done this years ago to be honest. Although I done this myself and obviously made the decision to stop speaking to these certain people, I do think meeting Bethany really made me realize this which I am thankful for. One day Beth just said to me that a certain someone was using me and taking the piss out of me which made me think "yes you are so right". Deep down I knew this certain person was but I guess you just go along with it and life can get carried away but it is not until people start to realize what people are doing to you that makes yourself stop and think. Beth cares so much for me and she hated seeing this certain person totally treat me like utter crap. From that moment I made the choice to tell this person and stop all contact and I tell you what, my life has never been any better and easier. I generally can say the people I have around me now are people who love and care about me. Of course I have certain family members I don't get on with but you can't choose your family can you.

Because of this, it did mean my whole social life changed and somehow stopped as this person was the person I was with most weekends and done most social things with. Everything was on her terms only and yes I was a mug to go along with it. Getting "rid" of negative people in your life makes a massive different. It changes you as a person and makes you a better person for it. You can 100% be happy and confident knowing the circle of people around you are fully caring, loving and positive. Don't be friends with people who only want to hang out when they are bored, don't believe a word they say to sweet talk you around, Don't do/say what they tell you to. I used to go to clubs, bars and restaurants that I didn't like, I used to meet up with people I hated but I done theses things because at the time I thought that was the right thing to do and in my mind if I didn't do these things then I wouldn't have any social life and I thought people and this certain people wouldn't like me if I declined.

Looking back I can't believe how gullible I was. Life isn't about wanting people to like you and now I think if someone doesn't like me then I honest don't care. I wanted to feel wanted as I never had that at school or college. I thought once you're a adult that things get better but it is rubbish. In fact it gets a whole lot worse when you're a adult. People are more horrible, ladies are more bitchy and bullying isn't something that happens at school only.

Always make sure you're happy and if people around you are making you unhappy and are bringing you down then get rid of them, stop all contact and enjoy being around people who make you happy. I want to thank Beth for telling me about this certain person otherwise I would still be in that place. I have a very small circle around me but I'm so much happier for :) Have anyone else had similar experience, or are in that place right now where you want to tell people you want to stop contact with them? Let me know.

Preparing To Be 21...: Reflecting on life

This week has been my final week of being 20!! As my 21st birthday is coming up on Sunday!! (26th October). Its safe to say like a little child I am so excited for my birthday!! :).

Thinking back to my childhood days I always remember laughing and smiling. Its safe to say I had a happy childhood. I was surrounded by a loving family especially loving grandparents, 3 of which sadly aren't here today. I am the youngest of three as I have an older brother and sister, I am the baby of the family, in some ways this can be a good thing, in some ways not... ha ha. Having older siblings and seeing how grown up they got treated when I was little made me want to act older than my age because I was  'jealous' of them being grown up. Typical younger sibling jealousy. Fast forwarding to my life now, I am still a genuine happy person, just with a bit more stress added on! My life is near on perfect only thing that could improve is our own place. I am a person who laughs alot but like most I have the odd day where stress gets me a bit down. Being a mummy helps me deal with the harder stressful days. I believe children make it hard for you to be sad and moody, just one look at Ava's little face and Bella's scan pic puts a gleaming smile on my face. Some may criticize for me being a young mum, but to be honest I wouldn't have it any other way, Im glad Im having children young as there are so many advantages, I have health on my side, touch wood. I also have enough time as possible with my children. I have a happy relationship with my partner we parent together Im so proud to have his children, I would say he's proud of me too after putting a ring on my finger!!

I've had my fair share of ups and downs over the past 21 years like anyone can. Low points being very very low, some things that I have had to go through have not been very pleasant. As bad as these times have been in a strange way they have made me the strong person I have become today. To have to go through hard times while facing the everyday teenage struggles of school makes life harder  but you get through it. I was told by a teacher that I was going to fail at my GCSE's, I will never forget this day, as upsetting as it was to hear it, it gave me the push I needed to succeed and prove these people wrong. Needless to say I past my GCSE's. I hate education to be honest, but the pride I felt when I opened that GCSE envelope was amazing, it gave me the push I needed to go to college, I started a legal secretarial course. It was enjoyable. Sadly I didn't finish. I just didn't feel right doing it. I am grateful for not finishing tho because when Ava was nine months old I started a hairdressing course which I loved! I finished it and became a fully qualified hairdresser including mens cuts. I am happy with hairdressing and have found my feet in what I want to do career wise. As I mentioned I had Ava. I became a mum. The day I had her and held her in my arms was the most loveliest indescribable feeling ever. It was the proudest day and moment of my life so far that I will never forget.

Its safe to say I have had a wonderful 20th year. I have had so many ups and there all thanks to the great people I have in my life to share all my times with. So thank you to those who put in an effort to make me happy and help me out, its not gone unnoticed. I look forward to another wonderful year to come.

For Sunday Happy 21st Birthday to me.

Tommy & Beth: Our Little Love Story

So I thought it would be a good idea to tell you all how I came to find my true prince charming (sorry for the cringe factor!) and became to be a part of this lovely family...

Never being one to go out clubbing, drinking ect, I knew finding
love wouldn't be easy and would only be in with a chance of 'pulling' once a year (prob Christmas or New Year). Not that I was going out looking for men, but you are always aware that you could possibly go home at the end of the night with either a big ego and a new number on your contact list or with ya self esteem shot down and asking yourself why you have a phone. I had come to a point in my life where I realised love wouldn't come knocking at my door and decided to give internet dating a try...

I used to be very skeptical about internet dating due to the amount of horror stories you hear about them... and believe me there are a few questionable characters on there, but I decided to put my hesitations to one side and give it a go! Why not?
I found myself getting a lot of private messages of cringy chat up lines and getting into some weird conversations with some strange men its then I started questioning my decision on joining the site so I signed myself off.
Its scary to think I almost never met the 'one' and how different my life could have ended up, I thank my lucky stars I had one last random check of my online dating inbox, because sitting there was a message from a guy who was sweet, kind and thoughtful a guy who as soon as saw his picture just looked different from the rest, maybe it was the look in his eye I don't know. It was the message I had hoped for from the the man I had always dreamed of, my future husband.

The first picture I saw of Tommy ...

With  his number in my inbox I excitedly sent the first text message and we have not looked back. We was texting non stop from that point on. I can remember getting butterflies in my stomach every time I saw he had messaged me and my fingers were twitching to text back. Not long after starting our text conversations we decided it was time for a phone call and one evening he rung me, his voice was like magic, all I thought it would be and more we clicked even  more and spent 5 hours on the phone not going asleep til early hours. Every night on from that we would speak on the phone for 3 hours each time, needless to say our phone bills took a bashing but it was so worth it!. To be honest, I think our families got a bit annoyed at us talking through the night and keeping them up but I am sure they would now agree that they wouldn't have had it any other way because we have ended up so happy.

Our first date:

I was on at Tom to come and see me, with him the only one that drove it made sense that he came to me first and Tommy being the gentleman he is wouldn't have it any other way. Once Tommy finally set a date to come and see me I was buzzing for the two weeks leading up to it and the Saturday couldn't come round quick enough, tho it felt like those weeks dragged!! When the day finally came I spent ages getting ready and couldn't shake the feeling of butterflies! I even  made my mum answer the door because I was so nervous! I didn't want him to see me and  be disappointed because believe me when I laid eyes on him for that first time I felt like a Disney princess staring into the eyes of my handsome prince charming. We had a lovely time going for Nandos  and to the cinema, we laughed and joked and just clicked straight away it felt like we had known each other forever, we even had our first kiss! By the time it came to say goodbye I felt like part of me was leaving, so we arranged a meeting in London the next weekend. We have been inseparable ever since.

My first trip to Windsor:

Tommy took me to meet his family in Windsor not long after our trip to London, it was the most amazing weekend of my life! As soon as I entered the family home everyone was immediately welcoming and kind. We spent our first nights together and woke up to each other it was bliss. Tommy took me to nandos and Windsor castle, I remember kissing Tom in the car when we got back from the castle, I just remember thinking how perfect my life was, I still think that. When Tommy took me back to Essex that Sunday it was so hard to say could bye with both of us ending up in tears. We missed each other so much I ended up returning on the Wednesday.

 Where are we now?:

We have never been apart since our weekend in Windsor, Tommy soon moved in with me in Essex at my parents home but due to work commitments we have recently moved to Windsor. Since the day we met me and Tom have got engaged hoping to marry next year and I am currently 8 months pregnant with a baby girl, not forgetting our beautiful daughter Ava. I am the happiest woman alive, my life is fulfilled with and wonderful husband to be and two beautiful daughters. Although we have our ups and downs and the odd argument we are stronger than any couple you will ever know, we are meant to be Tom is my soul mate. We are a team and get through any obstacles together. I love him so much and always will do.

Thats mine and Toms story, for those of you that want a nice little quick read, this is a little insight to our lives so far.

Hope you enjoyed, remember true love never dies ...

Ava's Cath Kidston Bag Collection

As an auntie, I LOVE buying and treating my Niece to stuff. Whether it be sweets, stuff from the charity shop or more expensive items Ava is very thankful and isn't a fussy child. When I heard Ava was moving into our family home and was going to be starting school in Windsor, I instantly said I want to buy her a Cath Kidston school bag as I wanted to buy her something that wasn't Minnie Mouse, Peppa Pig or anything character for a change. I didn't realise how amazing their kids items was and so much Ava has ended up with a whole line of Cath Kidston items haha. She adores them and so do we. Here is what myself and Beth brought her...

When myself and Ava went into Cath Kidston store in Windsor, she instantly ran up to the mini backpacks and picked out the pattern called "Bramley" which was so pretty. For £16 for a school bag people may think that is way too overpriced but for the quality it is defiantly worth the money. At her school there are few children with the same bags and they all know that Ava has the set of Cath Kidston bags. When she grows out of that bag, We will pass it onto Bella.

When Ava picked out the design, I wanted to get her the mini purse to go with it. She puts this purse in the pocket on front of her school bag and she uses this money for treats after school. For £4 this is honestly worth the money, not only is it good quality but it's a perfect size.

This bag is called a "Mini Shopper" but we thought it was perfect size for her lunch. Beth actually brought this for her as it was the last item we brought. This was £8 which again people may say for a lunch bag is over priced but all these items came to £28, is used 3 days a week and still looks brand new.

These items all are easy to wash, good quality and maybe overpriced for what they are for but in the long run they work out cheap. When she grows out of all these items, I know we would of kept them in good condition and ready to be used for Bella when she is around 2/3 years old. Ava loves Peppa Pig and Minnie Mouse but having something different was something we all agreed on and now everyone knows at her school whose items they are is even better because they will never get lost or accidentally taken home.

I defiantly recommend anything from the Cath Kidston kids stuff is you're stuck on ideas what to get for Christmas or birthdays or to treat your little ones. I shall be buying her some more items for her Christmas stocking this year. Maybe a cheeky baby grow for Bella but don't tell my bank balance haha.

Tears At Bedtime

Hi everyone :) a spontaneous blog from me tonight regarding bedtime for toddlers. I have just spent well over an hour putting Ava to bed tonight trying every trick in the book I know of the end result was me sitting in the room till she fell off to sleep. Ava being a happy character during the day her playing up and being miserable and moody is very unusual.
Ava has recently started nursery three days a week, yeah they are half days but for a little toddler this can be very tiring and have noticed since attending nursery which is making her more tired, bedtime has become more difficult. Also with a new baby on the way this could be Ava's way of acting out as she hasn't acted out about Bella coming yet.
Tonight me and Tom tried many of things to settle and calm Ava down including things I had learnt on the old TV show Supernanny and shows such as This Morning. Things we tried were:

1. Explaining what mummy and daddy are leaving the room to do.
2. Reading her a bedtime story (she has one every night) and giving it to her to take to bed.
3. Singing her lullabies.
4. Explaining that mummy and daddy will be coming upstairs later.
5.Explaining that she got to be a big girl as her baby sister needs to learn from her.
6. Leaving the room and keep putting her back into bed when she got out starting off saying its bedtime Ava to just putting her back into bed without a word.

None of these things worked with Ava and she eventually went off to sleep with me rocking her and sitting next to her bed and generally just being the room. Now many of people may say I shouldn't have caved in but when your nearly 8 months pregnant and your partners not feeling his best you cant keep it up for hours and yes Ava did win.... tonight. This is not to mean that we wont persevere tomorrow when we both feel a bit better. I want to tell mums and dads out there that have given in to not feel like you have failed or that people have the right to judge and comment should you tell them because no two children are the same not all will think they can do it every night and some will adapt 'tomorrow' night. You have not failed if you need to take the 'easy' option one night to get a little bit of well deserved rest.

ADVICE FROM BETH:

There is no right way to parent remember this, as a lot of people like to hint that there is but most of time that will be people who have never had children and believe me I have met a few myself! You will always find your own way to parent which will be the right way for you and your child. Even if you have more than one child you may parent them both different (without treating them different) as parenting styles depend on the child themselves. No two children are the same. And some children play up for different reasons maybe some change is occurring in their life this should be take into account. A thought that should be remembered. Look at it this way, children at school meet different milestones at different times, babies crawl, walk, talk and cut teeth at different times. Behavior works the same. So find your way that is right for your child and that will be the 'right way' don't listen to the opinions of others listen to your child and believe in your self and your parenting style.

TIP FROM BETH:

Keep your ears closed, your eyes open and your head clear. Free your mind of negativity and keep calm, keep on top of the situation and do whats right for your family how you think is right. Follow your own instincts your mothers instinct or fathers instinct because instinct is usually correct. Ignore the noses of nosey people with negative views and concentrate on your life and your family. Most of all be happy and enjoy it.

Thank you all for reading hope it helped more to come at later dates and enjoy our blog:)

Take care
