Happy 21st Birthday Beth

Today it is Beth's 21st birthday. Beth has been in Essex since yesterday and is spending the weekend at her parents home with Tommy and Ava. While Myself and my Mother will be joining them very soon. Today is the day my family get to meet the rest of Beth's family who we haven't met yet so it is an exciting day for all of us. I truly hope Beth has an amazing day and gets lots and lots of beautiful gifts.

Dear Beth,

"Sister in law by chance, friends by choice". This quote is very true. I'm very lucky to have you not only as my sister in law (to be) but also as a very lovely friend. You listen when I have my random rants, you care when I'm ill, you always make us laugh with your funny random words and I'm proud at you for being a amazing mother to Ava and soon to be to Bella. Thank you for giving me two beautiful Nieces ( I know Bella will be beautiful lol ), and for making my Brother the most happiest man alive. You two generally are made for each other and I will always be here to support, care and love you all. Happy 21st Birthday to my amazing Friend.

Love from your Sister in law, friend, personal organizer, beauty therapist and now my blogging partner.

Can we all wish Beth a very happy birthday today and happy birthday to anyone who shares this day. Hope you all have had a super weekend.

Love Katie x

When Toddlers Start Nursery

As Ava has recently started nursery for 3 days a week, it gave me an idea for a blog post...

I have recently noticed  a lot of changes in Ava in many different areas and I thought I would share with you all. Whether your a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle this read may benefit you. It can also be a good read for anyone.

It can be one of the most emotional day of a parents life, buying their school uniforms and breaking them in to leaving you for the day. It was when I took her to nursery for the first time I realised how attached to me Ava really was. At first she found it hard, she would cry whenever I left, I even started finding it hard breaking away. After the 'breaking' in  period and after a couple of weeks Ava put on her lovely red school dress and her lovely red flossy school shoes from Office and ran into school a confident little girl.

I have noticed a lot of changes in Ava behavior since she has been at nursery. Im sure a lot of toddlers go through some changes, so I am sure those of you who deal will children know what I am talking about. Ava has been increasingly mouthy after nursery, which although is wrong is completely understandable, she most probably gets completely knackered when at nursery not only that she may pick it up off other children who maybe mouthier. We have had issues with her doing as she is told ect, which could also be because she does as she is told all day at nursery shes had enough by the time she comes home, we deal with this behavior using the naughty spot and behavior chart.

On a brighter note most of the changes in Ava have been really positive, her speech has come on incredibly already. Ava has always been very clear when  she speaks the majority of people have always been able to understand her. Since she has been at nursery however she has been even more clearer and has put her sentences together almost perfectly it has done her the world of good. The thing I find the best are the amount of words she is coming out with. We have at least one new word a day and some of them are really funny, shes says 'stupid' but used it in a funny way, she says 'doing my head in', 'very very well', 'lounge' these are only a few new words in Ava's Vocabulary.

The Proudest moment for parents when our little ones start nursery or school is when they make things. Seeing their little faces when they show you what they have made is so lovely and melts your heart. Ava has made so much in her time at nursery so far, including paintings, writings, colorings and she has even learnt to cut with scissors! Also they do cooking at Ava's nursery doing a selection of sweet and savory items. All tasting very lovely!!

Below is Ava's spider cupcake she made!

Its amazing how much a little one can change in such a short space of time and yeah there behavior can go a little bit bad but all that is clouded over by the amazing good changes. This proves how clever children are and how much they take in, it is amazing. I can honestly say I am one proud mum, from Ava's confidence boost to her speech improvements to her creativeness she keeps a gleaming smile of pride on my face that just keeps getting bigger.

Hope you all enjoyed  the read...

Lots Of Love

Lazy Family Sunday

Hi everyone :) Hope everyone had a lovely lazy Sunday like we did here in Windsor. We lazed around in bed until half 10 quarter to 11, even Ava! After a busy week I think we all deserved it!

For us girls and I think you would all agree that Sundays are the one day where we wont put on our best outfits, fancy shoes, have big hair and most of all we give our faces from make up letting our skin breathe.. we have braved the camera for a no make up selfie getting away with it as today was a lazy Sunday!

Today would have been the perfect day for a big fry up with all the added extras including a giant cup of tea or coffee! But unfortunately not having the full ingredients for a fry up and no giant sized mug me Tommy settled for a toasted sausage sandwich and normal sized coffee while Ava enjoyed eggs and a cup of juice. Sadly Katie wasn't feeling too well at this point at was in bed so missed breakfast :(. Don't worry shes feeling better now :). Below we have a cheeky shot of Ava enjoying breakfast time!

With an active toddler you have to think of some good Sunday activities not only that we enjoy family time and doing things as a family creating memories to cherish. So with it being the 19th October its the perfect time of year to start getting into the Halloween spirit (we love this time of year) so Tommy came up with the great idea of carving a pumpkin! Being Tommy and Ava's first time at pumpkin carving i took a step back and let them take the lead.

Steps to pumpkin carving (for those who have not tried it yet)

1. Cut a round circle out of the top to gain access to the inside of your pumpkin this will also act as a lid :)

2. Scrape the insides out of your pumpkin ensuring nothing is left inside and throw the cut offs in the bin.

3. Grab a marker pen and draw on any design that you want onto the front of your pumpkin.. Go as wild, creative and scary as you feel!!

4. Cut around your design and poke out the bits you have cut! you can now admire your handy work!

5. To get it at its full potential on Halloween night pop a tee tree light  in the  middle of your pumpkin and put it out side your front door!!

Below are some snaps of Ava and Daddy enjoying some quality time pumpkin carving!

Our pumpkin!

After our pumpkin carving we got into the classic lazy Sunday feel and lazed around! With Ava snuggling into bed with Katie for a nap Me and Tom where able to spend some quality time together, with Tom desperately needing a hair cut I got my clippers out and cut his hair while watching some Sunday football :).

Katie and Ava both woke up and we all enjoyed a nice lunch of sandwiches and nachos in bed:)

As you can guess we didn't quite have  time to make a big roast dinner so with Ava in bed after a dinner of homemade vegetable pasta we had the perfect end to a Sunday with a KFC dinner while watching X factor... Pure bliss :)

Hope you all had a lovely lazy Sunday and enjoyed it us much as we did here :)

Until next time Lots of Love

Katie & Beth ... xxx
